When Gary Marino was a child, he struggled with being overweight. As he grew into an adult, this battle intensified. Finally, upon reaching a dangerous 397 pounds, he decided to do something about it.
Enlisting the help of a therapist, a fitness trainer and a whole lot of research, Gary was able to drop 150 pounds over the course of a few years.
He also organized a walk from Florida to Boston, and chronicled his adventure in his film, Million Calorie March.
Gary continues his quest to overcome the obesity epidemic. In children he works tirelessly for prevention measures and with adults he encourages people to “achieve health and wellness at any weight and never give up the fight."
In this segment of Naturally Savvy, he joins Andrea and Lisa to talk about his award winning film and how he hopes it will educate, inspire and motivate others to take action in their own lives.
