The desire for wholesome, organic food options and ingredients is not going away.
And, having the option of non-GMO foods is increasingly important to consumers as well.
But, many companies aren't willing (or able) to take all the steps necessary to ensure their products are GMO-free -- and verified as such -- especially because it isn't cheap to do so.
One company, Barbara's Bakery, has invested in this and has done so rather quickly.
The company recently announced that 26 of its cereals are verified, and a majority of its snacks are non-GMO verified as well.
Not only is Barbara's Bakery invested in your health, but they also partner with the National Wildlife Federation and the National Audubon Society to help promote awareness about animals (some of them endangered) around the world.
Director of U.S. marketing for Weetabix North America, Katrina Yolen, joins Andrea and Lisa to share more about what Barbara's Bakery is doing in terms of non-GMO offerings, as well as why this is becoming increasingly important for the health and wellness of the nation as a whole.
