She has worked with Fortune 500 companies to develop, implement and evaluate wellness programs and to improve their use of health care technology in patient care delivery. Melton has written for health-focused journals and blogs. Melton speaks on nutrition and health IT-related topics to her clients and other organizations. Melton also works as a program director and clinical assistant professor of health informatics at Georgia State University. She leads an interdisciplinary faculty of health IT professionals and teaches and conducts research in health and nutrition informatics. She has completed certificate programs in adult and child and adolescent weight management, and is an active member of the Atlanta and Georgia dietetic associations, the Nutrition Entrepreneurs dietetic practice group and the Georgia Health Information Management Systems Society. Melton earned an undergraduate degree from the University of North Florida and a master’s degree from Georgia State University. She is pursuing a Health Informatics certificate at Duke University’s School of Nursing.
