Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. Our bodies need over 20 amino acids to function properly.
With a damaged food supply, it’s tough to get all the nutrients your body needs. Choosing better quality foods will give your body more nutrients. Stick to grass-fed and grass-finished beef. Visit farmers markets. Ask questions about the food before you buy it.
Listen as Dr. Fred Pescatore joins Dr. Mike Smith to discuss amino acids and how to get the most out of your meals.

Amino Acids: Protein for Your Health
Featuring:
While studying for a Masters Degree in Public Health at Columbia University and traveling extensively throughout Asia and India, Dr. Pescatore trained with practitioners who specialized in alternative healing techniques. This invaluable exposure provided him with the seeds of knowledge that opened his eyes to the world of Alternative Medicine and the realization that by combining traditional and alternative medical techniques, it is possible for a truly holistic process of healing to take place.
In order to further expand his knowledge of alternative medicine, Dr. Pescatore joined the staff of the Atkins Center, the Worlds preeminent center for Complementary Medicine. Working along side Dr. Robert C. Atkins, Dr. Pescatore quickly rose to the position of Associate Medical Director. He then opened The Centers for Integrative and Complementary Medicine with offices in New York, Palm Beach and Dallas. In his daily practice, now just in New York City, Dr. Pescatore treats clients with heart disease and diabetes to more daily concerns such as diet and nutrition by employing a combination of both alternative and traditional medicines - orchestrating all of the healing arts for the benefit of the client.
Dr. Pescatore was the host of “Your Health Choices - The Friday Edition”, his own weekly radio program and the number 1 rated health talk program in New York City, on New York’s WEVD for seven years. He was the former host of “New Vitality Live” on both WOR and WWRL. This program teaches the audience to dedicate and not medicate to help heal themselves. Every day is a new chance to be healthy.
Dr. Pescatore appears regularly on national news magazine shows, national morning shows, and local television stations around the country, as the guest expert on all things integrative. He speaks to audiences around the globe to share his insights on this important subject. Feed Your Kids Well, his first book, was the number 1 best selling children’s health book for more than a year. The Hamptons Diet was a New York Times and world-wide best seller. His latest book, The A-List Diet also conquered the best seller lists around the world. His other books include: Thin For Good and The Allergy and Asthma Cure, and The Hamptons Diet Cookbook.
Dr. Pescatore’s traditional medical knowledge comes from his training at three of New York’s preeminent teaching hospitals; St. Vincent’s, Mt. Sinai Medical Center and St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital Center and his treatment of thousands of clients using traditional methods. To keep abreast of both alternative and traditional teachings, Dr. Pescatore is a member of the American Medical Association, The American Public Health Association, The National Association of Physician Broadcasters, and the American College for the Advancement of Medicine, and is President of the International and American Association of Clinical Nutritionists.
