Rebecca Adelman, JD
Rebecca Adelman is an entrepreneur, influencer, thought leader and founder of Adelman Law Firm and Claims Management, established in 2001. The firm is a Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and Tennessee Certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE). For over 30 years, Rebecca has concentrated her practice in healthcare, insurance defense, employment and business litigation.
Rebecca’s practice includes representation of insurance companies and long‐ term care providers and their insurers, both regionally and nationally. The firm provides claims management services to senior living insurance companies and created the PRISM proactive claims model focused on offensive strategies to claims and risk mitigation. She also provides consulting services and educational programming to healthcare professionals and business associates. She has active practices in the areas of general liability, sports, leisure and entertainment insurance, professional liability, premises, and employment law. She is a listed mediator serving all areas of business and healthcare litigation. She founded the National Long- Term Care Defense Summit in 2012, a complimentary conference for senior living industry owners and insurers.

An innovator and change-maker in the area of quality end-of-life care, Rebecca founded the Adelman-Mettle Palliative Care Alliance with Dr. BJ Miller, a palliative care specialist, author and international speaker, and Sonya Dolan, co-founders of Mettle Health. The Alliance provides education, training and advances policy initiatives focused on improving living and dying for our elderly population. The Alliance is developing a Nursing Center-Based Palliative Care Team curriculum and authored the Introduction to Palliative Care for the National Institute of CNA Excellence.
Her experience also extends to risk management and organizational counseling and formal programs including comprehensive “expectations management”, arbitration training, facility admissions protocols, and crisis communication planning. She is a member of the prestigious Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM).

Rebecca is involved in state and national legislative matters on behalf of the healthcare industry and serves as Legal Advisor for the American Assisted Living Nurses Association and the National Association of Health Care Assistants. She authors a monthly column, The Adelman Advantage, for the Nursing & Assisted Living Professional newsletter, and is a regular contributor to other publications. The firm also has a popular podcast, Deny Everything, covering topics in the senior housing and insurance industries.

Rebecca was a finalist for CLM Professional of the Year - Outside Counsel, was honored with the inaugural Ethel Mitty Heart Award and recognized as a Super Women in Business by the Memphis Business Journal and named an “MBQ Power Player” in the area of defense litigation by Memphis Business Quarterly. She was included in the “Women to Watch” issues of Memphis Woman Magazine and selected as Executive of the Year by the Memphis Business Journal. She partners with Facing History and Ourselves and Grounded on education initiatives for members of the community who are in need of support. Her strong beliefs in education and peace guided her to found a non‐profit Montessori School. She is an NBA and WNBA Certified Player Agent. She is fluent in French.
