What exactly does that mean? Woman on the go. I know lots of women, and none of us considers ourselves on-the-go...
When I think of the time we spend worrying about money, illness, children, and so many other things. I wonder how much more productive I could be if I didn’t worry so much.
Now granted... I come by it honestly. My mother, may she rest in peace, was a world-class worrier. We are jewish, and the two things that are absolutes in the jewish culture are worry and guilt. I have learned the fine art of guilt from a master. Both my mom and my aunt (my dad's beloved sister and my soulmate) perfected the art to the point that it was not even apparent you were being guilted into things until long after you had done them.
As a mom, I myself have learned the finer points of how much can get done when you let someone else feel that they have to pitch in or else feel guilty for letting you do it all by yourself. Of course, that’s the genius.
When we worry...we use up valuable hormone excretions. We create health busting hormones like cortisol and epinephrine.
We usually can't do anything about what we're worrying about anyway.
So, how to stop?
Well, thats not gonna happen. So how do we take that worry and turn it into a positve influence? One thing we can do is take that excess worry energy... and exercise!
It helps! It really does! When I am on the treadmill I don't worry about stuff.
I can't, because I am focusing on myself, and my body, and my breathing.
I watch tv shows on demand, catch up on old favorites, and watch movies.
Its a wonderful time for me...and one of the few times a day I don't worry about things.
I will give more in the coming days on how to diffuse worry....because I am learning too...and when I find something else that works....I will let you know!
