Elizabeth R. Ransom, MD, FACS, was appointed as executive vice president and chief physician executive of Baptist Health in December 2019. Working collaboratively with physicians, care providers and administrators across the health system, Dr. Ransom leads and supports transformational initiatives designed to improve health and enhance care in every setting. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Ransom served as the Executive Vice President and Clinical Leader for the North Zone of Texas Health Resources, comprised of nine hospitals, eight ambulatory surgery centers and more than 2,000 physicians. She received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and her Doctor of Medicine from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. She completed her residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Henry Ford Health System.
