Neonatal Nurse Practitioners at CM-- Discussion with Nicole Hutcheson
Featured Speaker:
Nicole Hutcheson, MSN, APRN, NNP-BC, CPNP-PC
I joined CMH in 2005 after graduating from Avila University. I started in the NICU and have been there ever since. I was a bedside nurse for 7 1/2 years before transitioning to my role as an NNP after completing my MSN at UMKC in 2013. I went back and completed a post-Master's certificate to become a PNP in 2019, also at UMKC. I am currently enrolled in the DNP program at Duke University with a projected graduation date of May 2022. I am definitely a lifelong learner! In my role as an NNP, I provide service at CMH, North Kansas City Hospital, and Liberty Hospital. **I don't know if this is common knowledge but the NNP group (80+ practitioners) provides 24/7 in-house coverage at Truman Medical Center-Hospital Hill, Truman Medical Center-Lakewood, Advent Health Shawnee Mission, Olathe Medical Center, North Kansas City Hospital, Liberty Hospital, and Mosaic Medical Center in St. Joseph, MO. We attend high-risk deliveries and manage NICU babies at those Metro hospitals.**
