Dr. McCarty received his undergraduate degree at the University of Washington before attending to the University of Washington School of Medicine where he obtained a medical doctorate. He completed general surgery internship and residency at the University of California San Diego. He went on to complete a fellowship in minimally invasive and foregut surgery at the University of Southern California.
