A Living, Breathing Credit Union Rock Star: Catching Up with Christopher Morris
There’s no person better suited to appear on The Speakeasy than our guest, Christopher Morris. As a musician, artist, writer, and all around decent guy with great hair, Chris always brings his A game to the credit union world.

Previously, Christopher was a Client Strategist at AdvantEdge Analytics, helping lead and facilitate the business and data strategy planning process for credit unions to ultimately drive value for members. Prior to AdvantEdge at CUNA Mutual Group, he led communications for the National Credit Union Foundation and CUNA Councils.
Christopher built cuaid.coop, the first national online disaster relief fundraising system for credit unions and helped raise almost $3 million in 2017. He earned his Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) designation in 2005 and received both his Caribbean DE (CaribDE) designation and International CUDE (I-CUDE) designation in 2016. Additionally, he helped lead the transformational CUDE Training for hundreds of credit union professionals as a mentor and facilitator for over a dozen programs.
Christopher has received the Credit Union Times' "Trailblazer 40 Below" award, is a recipient of the World Council of Credit Unions Young Credit Union People Program (WYCUP) award and has been profiled as a "rock star" by Credit Union Magazine. Additionally, Christopher created the National Credit Union Foundation's Diamond Award winning "Murmurings" podcast and co-created a music project (The Disclosures) that introduces financial education songs and lessons to children.
Christopher is an active community volunteer, serving as President-Elect on the Board of Directors at the Middleton Public Library. He also works with local food pantries and organizes frequent group volunteer opportunities.
Before entering the credit union system, Christopher was a high school English teacher and is a veteran of the United States Army, including NATO peacekeeping operations in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Christopher Morris is currently an Engagement Consultant at the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), working alongside League partners in the Midwest region to mutually serve their members through direct interaction with credit unions.
