Meet Lucy

Lucy DelGaudio was physically active and served in the military. PTSD led to comfort eating. Hypertensive and pre-diabetes diagnoses prompted Lucy to seek change. Lucy shares her story of life after bariatric surgery.

Lucy DelGaudio
Lucy Del Gaudio is an IT Infrastructure Specialist with GBTS – Technology Enablement Center (TEC). She currently supports Group Insurance (Roseland Campus) with their video conferencing services.

Ms. Del Gaudio is a veteran of the United State Army. During her Active Service, Lucy served in the 39th Finance Support Unit in Hanau, Germany and supported 5th Corp – Frankfurt, Germany during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. During her Reserve Service, she served in the USAR Control Group, Fort Totten, Queens. She attained the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged in 1998.

Currently, Ms. Del Gaudio is a strong advocate for veterans in the State of New Jersey. She is currently the 2nd Vice Commander of American Legion Post 18 (Weehawken, NJ), serves as Chair for the NJ SOS Veterans Stakeholders Women Sub Committee. Ms. Del Gaudio was recently name an Ambassador to the Oscar Mike Foundation – a non for profit formed to support the mission of keeping veterans “On the Move”. She is a YWCA Bergen County Veteran Liaison and Volunteer, Advisory Board Member of Care for Life and Limb. She is the founding/former Chapter Captain Team Red, White and Blue Northern New Jersey and a member of The Mission Continues – Newark Platoon.

Ms. Del Gaudio is the recipient of the 2015, 2016 and 2017 Points of Light President’s Volunteer Service Award and received the 2016 Prudential Employee Volunteer of the Year, having volunteered 1286 hours for various Veteran Service Organizations. Lucy grew up in Union City and is a graduate of Union Hill High School.
