Dr. David L. Hill currently works as a hospitalist pediatrician for Goldsboro Pediatrics in Wayne County, NC. He admits and cares for newborns and pediatric inpatients, including stabilizing critically ill children and consulting in the emergency department. He continues to see outpatients in the Goldsboro Pediatrics afternoon clinic. In the past, Dr. Hill has served as a hospitalist for Coastal Children’s Services in Wilmington, NC and as Associate Medical Director of KidzCare Pediatrics, a multi-site practice in North Carolina and Georgia. For many years he was Vice President and Managing Partner of Cape Fear Pediatrics/Coastal Pediatric Associates, a multi-site pediatric clinic in Wilmington. Dr. Hill also serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the UNC School of Medicine, taking an active role in teaching medical students and allied health professionals.


Dr. Hill is co-host of the AAP’s flagship podcast, Pediatrics on Call. From 2015 to 2019 Dr. Hill served as Chair of the AAP Council on Communications and Media, placing him at the nexus of national-level pediatric policy making and advocacy, including the creation of updated guidelines on children and media. He now serves the 67,000 member organization in leadership on the AAP Council Management Committee, part of the AAP’s governing structure. Additionally, he serves as Associate Editor of Pediatric Care Online Patient Information, helping to educate families on pediatric conditions.
