  • Guest Bio: Dr. Hugh Hill has worked in emergency medicine for about 30 years. He was at Bayview Medical Center before entering government service with Health and Human Services. While at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Dr. Hill acted as Director of the Coverage and Analysis Group, which decides which new services and products Medicare will cover, and in the Program Integrity Group, which fights fraud, waste, and abuse in Medicare. Hugh returned to Bayview in 2003 and in addition to attending in the emergency department, he is the Director of the Fast Track, offering no-appointment care for the less severely ill and injured.

    He has been the Director of seven Emergency Departments, including the Navy’s Bethesda Medical Center, and other trauma and referral centers. In addition to his certification in Emergency Medicine, Dr. Hill is certified by the American Board of Law and Medicine, and has published extensively in legal medicine. He is an Examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

    In his home community of Montgomery County Maryland, Hugh is the President of the area’s largest and oldest free health care service organization, with 19 clinics. He continues to serve as a volunteer physician for this non-profit – Mobile Medical Care, as he has for 15 years.
