Balance training workouts are not just for seniors anymore.
Some of the most elite athletes in sports are training with exercises that incorporate balance, and proprioception.
That's a big word, but it basically means "where your body lies in space" and involves an awareness of your body parts and how they relate to other body parts and your body as a whole. This has been shown to be one reason why those elite athletes dominate in their sport.
Incorporating this kind of program into your regular routine can improve your coordination, minimize risk of injuries during physical activity and even build strength.
Balance training can be adjusted to accommodate most fitness levels and coordination capacities.
In this informative segment, Melanie Cole, MS, and Dr. Michelle Olson help you put some balance into your fitness routine and your life.
