You try to buy as many organic products as you can, and think that you're really doing well in terms of your health.
But did you know that some of those organic foods can still contain dangerously high levels of heavy metals?
A recent analysis of a variety of food and supplement products revealed extremely high levels of heavy metals such as lead, cadmium and tungsten.
This is alarming, especially considering such high levels can cause mental fogginess and dementia, a weakened immune system, and general malaise.
What's even more disturbing is that the levels detected in many of the products are illegal in Canada, while the FDA and USDA in the States has no limits whatsoever on heavy metals.
So, which products should you avoid? And what can be done to eat "clean" when there is literally no regulation by the government?
In this edition of "Healthy Steps with Dr. Ginger," the good doctor goes over specific products to look out for, the dangers of heavy metals, and effective ways you can take matters into your own hands.
