Want to Connect with Your Kids? Join Them in the Digital World

Within the last decade, there's no denying the huge technology developments that have completely changed the way you communicate.

Tablets and smartphones have made your world accessible with the swipe of your finger. Some doctors and other experts believe this has led to a huge disconnect with the younger generations.

However, many other experts don't necessarily agree with parents who limit screen time or take away smartphones/tablets for punishment.

Engagement and what's considered "play time" might have a completely meaning than what you were used to as a child. But, does that mean it's wrong? What if the answer was as simple as this: if you want to connect with your kid, then it's time for you to PICK UP the phone/tablet and get in there with your kids and join THEM in their digital world, not drag them outside to play.

Robert Weiss, LCSW, shares how technology might have changed your parenting style, why parents shouldn't worry so much about children playing in the digital world, and how you can join your child in that world for bonding and development.
