Summer is upon us once again, and that means many of you will be spending as much time outdoors as you can on local bike paths, jogging trails, tennis courts, beaches and soccer fields.
Now is a perfect time to give some thought to the importance of staying well-hydrated during your outdoor summer workouts.
Staying hydrated means not only drinking water, but keeping your body mineralized with major electrolytes and trace minerals.
When you're working or playing outside, you're exposed to the summer sun and summer heat and can lose up to a gram of salt and other minerals every hour.
If not replaced, the absence of those excreted minerals can trigger a variety of physical symptoms, including heat stroke, leg cramps, headaches, nausea, and death.
How can you keep your whole body hydrated this summer?
Darryl Bosshardt, Expert in Therapeutic Clay Healing, joins Melanie Cole, MS, to discuss how to stay hydrated throughout the summer.
