Her research topics include emotional and academic resiliency among disadvantaged populations, technology use and misuse in personal and educational settings, and factors surrounding violent behaviors among adolescents and young adults. Dr. McSpadden is an Assistant Professor at the City University of New York (Bronx Community College and Hunter College). Her research has resulted in the creation of the Peer Support and Career Development Program at Bronx Community College, of which she is a founder and director in cooperation with the BCC Office of Personal Counseling.
