Molly specializes in the treatment of weight management, eating disorders, and addictions, and has made it her life’s mission to help people find a sustainable solution to their battles with obesity and related eating disorders.  She is among the leading behaviorists in the field of obesity and food addiction.

Ms. Carmel served as the founder and senior clinical director of Wellspring, the nation’s leading provider of fitness and weight loss camps for children, teens, young adults, and families. She founded their first boarding school, Academy of the Sierras. She serves as Wellspring’s chief clinical consultant and serves on the Scientific Advisory Board for Rivermend Health.

Before creating The Beacon, Ms. Carmel created Greenlight, a successful weight management program at the renowned Wilkins Center in Greenwich, CT, and at Webster Wellness Professionals in St. Louis, MO.

Ms. Carmel’s work has been featured on The Today Show, The Dr. Oz Show, Dateline NBC, Anderson Cooper 360, and Extreme Makeover as well as in People Magazine and the Los Angeles Times. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Cornell University and her Master’s Degree from Columbia University’s School of Social Work.
