You have to let your body rest in order to get fit.
If you work out like mad to shape your body by a deadline, you're increasing your cortisol and insulin with the stress. Your body needs a break to recover from the physical stress. You need rest and appropriate recovery.
You need to find a program to help you be strong, have aerobic and anaerobic endurance. Work a regeneration day into your workout, doing yoga or barre class on that day. You have to individualize for your own unique needs.
Fitness professional Liz Corah discusses balancing your workouts.
