Tara Parker-Pope, MPH, is an award-winning journalist, author, and founder of the Substack newsletter One Day Better, where she shares science-based insights on building a healthier, more meaningful life. Over a career spanning more than three decades, she has helped shape the national conversation around health and well-being as the founding editor of New York Times Well and Washington Post Well+Being. She began her national reporting career at The Wall Street Journal and later served as Chief Content Officer at Thrive Global. Her work has earned numerous honors, including a Pulitzer Prize as part of The New York Times team recognized for coverage of the Covid-19 pandemic, an Emmy Award for the Well video series Life, Interrupted, and a GLAAD Media Award for her article “Kept from a Dying Partner’s Bedside,” later cited by President Obama in support of hospital visitation protections for same-sex couples. Parker-Pope is the author or collaborator on several books exploring health, resilience, leadership, and work in the age of AI. She holds a Master of Public Health degree from the Yale School of Public Health and a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
