Healing Power of Animals

While research has proven the healing benefits of animals, you don't need a scientist to tell you the joy these creatures can bring into your life.
If you've visited a senior living home recently, or been to a children's ward of a hospital, you might see something you hadn't in previous years: animals.

While research has proven the healing benefits of animals, you don't need a scientist to tell you the joy these creatures can bring to anyone's life.

Part of that healing comes from the fact that pets give you something a human simply can't: unconditional love. No matter what is going on in your existence, they will always love you.

They can also provide another healing tool: laughter. If you've ever caught your dog or cat doing something silly, you know how they can bring a smile to your face.

If you're not able to bring an animal into your own home, you can still reap the benefits animals provide by volunteering at a shelter or even just visiting the animals in the shelter from time to time.

Listen in as Carol Alt joins host Andrea Donsky to discuss the healing powers of animals, how she came to realize this power in her own life, and why having a four-legged friend can literally save you.
