If you’re a kid — and a parent — bedtime can be a struggle. Bedtime battles can get even tougher during daylight saving time. Whether we are “springing forward” in March or “falling back” in November, physicians say that preparation can empower parents, help families transition to the time change and make sure everyone is getting healthy sleep.

Monika Garg Mathur, MD
Dr. Mathur has focused her educational and professional career on sleep medicine and pediatric neurology for more than 10 years. Following her graduation from Wayne State University School of Medicine, she began her training in pediatrics at Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach. She then pursued several fellowship trainings: one in Pediatric Neurology with the University of California, Irvine and Children’s Hospital of Orange County; and another in Sleep Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. She returned to Miller Children’s as the medical director of the Craniofacial Program at the Stramski Developmental Center, and sees patients in the Behavioral Neurodevelopmental Program and Pediatric Division of the Long Beach Adult & Pediatric Sleep Center.
