CyberKnife: Leading-Edge Treatment for Prostate Cancer Patients
According to the American Cancer Society, prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in American men. Sixty-five percent of all prostate cancers are found in men ages 65 – 69. Radiation Oncologist, Asif Harsolia, M.D, discusses the benefits of CyberKnife radiosurgery for the treatment of prostate cancer.

Following this, he succesfully completed his internship and residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan where he had the privilege of training with some of the world's top specialists in the field of radiation oncology obtaining highly specialized skills in advanced radiation techniques such as brachytherapy, image-guidance, radiosurgery, and intensity modulated radiation therapy. While there, he also served as the Chief Resident.
He has authored multiple scientific publications in the fields of breast, prostate, and lung cancer resulting in multiple awards for his work including the first place clinical research award from the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) for his work on breast cancer, the first place award in the Delmar H. Mahrt Resident Research Competition from the Michigan Society of Therapeutic Radiologists and Oncologists, the RSNA Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award and the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) Wong Scholarship Award.
Dr. Harsolia retains memberships in numerous oncologic societies.
He is on the medical staff at Orange Coast Memorial, Long Beach Memorial, and Saddleback Memorial Hospitals and is a clinical professor of radiation oncology at the University of California – Irvine.

Asif R. Harsolia, M.D. is a board certified cancer specialist in Radiation Oncology.Originally from Michigan, Dr. Harsolia obtained his Bachelors of Science in Biopsychology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
