Candida is a genus of yeasts and is the most common cause of fungal infections worldwide. Its job is to aid with your digestion and nutrient absorption; but, when overproduced, candida can release harmful toxins into your body and can cause several health issues.
There are also several types of candidiasis that can affect your body such as in the mouth and throat, the genital area and skin.
There can be a lot going on in your life and body that can add to the symptoms of candida overgrowth. Since symptoms can include chronic fatigue, depression, gastrointestinal issues, and skin issues, candida overgrowth may be overlooked and is often misdiagnosed.
Dr. Holly and Dr. Jacob Tietlbaum discuss what candida is, the problems it causes and some ways to stop candida overgrowth from happening in your body.
