The Healing Powers of Comfrey

Comfrey is a Eurasian plant that comes from the borage family, and has purple and white bell-shaped flowers. It has been used as a natural herb remedy in Chinese traditional medicine for over 200 years because of its amazing healing powers.

Comfrey can be taken orally or used topically and is mostly used as a natural anti-inflammatory skin treatment to treat bruises, wounds and rashes. It has also been known to treat pulled muscles, broken bones, sprains, strains and osteoarthritis.

However, there are some issues surrounding comfrey. Even though this herb has strong healing powers, it contains some potent compounds known as PA that are hard on your liver if taken orally.

What are some ways doctors and researchers are trying to design a comfrey product for its healing powers but also so it's not as harmful to your body?

Cheryl Meyers, RN, joins Dr. Holly to share the healing powers of comfrey, what comfrey is used for and where you can find this natural aid.
