Are You Creating Stress in Your Life?

Unless you live in a zen environment, you are most likely constantly surrounded by stress.

Just living and engaging with the world loads stress onto your body.

Unfortunately, you are also under increasingly high levels of chronic stress in the modern age: your job, finances, family and friends.

Studies indicate that stress affects four major systems in the body: digestion, immune function, hormones and nervous system.

Your gastrointestinal tract is in charge of consuming and digesting the food that enters your body, absorbing essential nutrients for your health and eliminating the waste. When you're stressed, your GI tract is one of the major systems affected.

What are some signs you should be looking out for, indicating that your body is under major stress?

If you chronically experience gas, bloating, discomfort, joint pain, skin rashes, or acne and mood changes such as depression, these can all be symptoms indicating there is a problem.

What are ways to eliminate stress within your gut and body?

Sarah Corey, AADP, joins Dr. Holly to discuss how stress affects your body, why you might be adding more stress and ways to get rid of that stress.
