It’s Time to Heal: Remember to Be Your Own Primary Caregiver

A primary caregiver is a person who holds full responsibility for someone who is no longer able to take care of himself or herself.

This includes taking care of the housing, health and safety of that individual.

When you think of a primary caregiver, you might think of your doctor, a hospital or your health insurance provider. However, you might not think of yourself as being a primary caregiver.

Why is that?

Instead of checking in with yourself first, you might feel the need to check in with your primary caregiver.

There are so many practitioners and forms of treatment available -- acupuncturists, nutritional medicine, naturopathic doctors, conventional medicine, and homeopathy -- that can provide many benefits to your health.

However, whether it's happened recently or years ago, you might have encountered a negative experience with your doctor or your insurance provider. You may have felt you weren't being heard, leaving you frustrated and unsure of the next step.

Aren't you the primary caregiver of your own body, mind spirit? What's keeping you from making check-ups with yourself?

Dr. Holly shares what is means to be a primary caregiver, the many ups and downs you might experience with your current primary caregiver, and how you can learn to be your own primary caregiver.
