You may have seen the recent report put out by the American Heart Association advising people not to consume coconut oil due to its high saturated fat content.

The report did not provide evidence from more recent studies that prove saturated fat has positive health benefits, particularly in terms of liver health, immune health, and hormone development.

The recommendation from the AHA also advises consuming vegetable oils as an alternative (e.g. corn oil, canola oil), but these oils contain high levels of omega-6 fats and are incredibly inflammatory. They can even become toxic.
