Lung Cancer - Screening Prevention
In honor of Lung Cancer Awareness Month, Medical Oncologist and Hematologist, Dr. Merla, highlights Ridgecrest Regional Hospital's launch of their new lung cancer screening program.

Dr. Merla completed his internal medicine training at Saint Luke’s University Hospital, a major teaching hospital of Temple-St. Luke’s medical school and Temple University, Philadelphia. He completed his Hematology-Oncology fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Dr Merla had previously held a faculty position at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He specializes in breast, gastrointestinal, prostate and lung cancers. He also has special interest in lymphomas and other hematological problems. He was also trained in the United Kingdom and gained valuable international experience before moving to the United States. He is currently a member of the American Society for Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
