Dr. Michael Sussman (Guest): I was drawn to Shriner’s because I appreciated the velocity of care in that we have all in one building, all of the services that are needed to treat children with multiple needs. Hi, this is Dr. Michael Sussman, I’m a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon at Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Portland and I specialize in treating children with neuromuscular diseases including cerebral palsy, particularly progressive neuromuscular diseases along with their whole neuromuscular system. In my free time, I do some hiking, gardening, and cycling. My philosophy of care is that we should provide family centered care to all children; that is the care that we provide should fit in with the family needs and circumstances and that we provide all of the services needed that we possibly can including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, nutrition, orthotics and prosthetics as well as general medical care.
