Shana Mohler: Hi, this is Shana Mohler. I am speaking today on behalf of Farmington High School's Project Graduation Class of 2024. We are a group of families that put on a night of fun after graduation for students and a guest to enjoy the night without alcohol, drugs, and just clean fun where their families can enjoy a night of not worrying that their kids are out doing something that they might get hurt.

We do rely on the community to donate funds, food, paper goods, everything for the kids to enjoy this evening. San Juan Regional has donated for the last 30 plus years. I know when I graduated 30 years ago this summer, we had our Project Graduation at the spa here in Farmington. So, it's been going on for 30 plus years. And San Juan Regional has been a big part of this community for all the area high schools, not just Farmington High. They donate every year to every community surrounding high school.

So, it takes a community to make sure that our kids and friends stay safe, and that they enjoy the night in which they deserve. This will be my third senior. One of them unfortunately graduated in 2020, and he didn't get to enjoy all of that. So, it's nice to be able to, as a parent, participate in something so phenomenal that the community participates in. And we have hundreds of businesses that contribute, not only financially, but they contribute in donations, food, waters, you name it, prizes that the kids get.

So, it's not just financials that we need as a community to come together. We need everything. We need help, volunteers. That's what the parents come to do. They come in and sit at tables for games. We sign the kids in. And then when the kids leave at night, we make that personal phone call to their guardian letting them know that your child has left the building and they are no longer here in our care and they've left. So, no matter what time of night it is, we have let them know that they've left. So at that point, the parents know that they're no longer at Project Graduation.

So, it's just something that's nice to have in the community, that night of graduation. And it's nice to know that the community is involved in that. And I know, speaking to San Juan Regional, when they do the donations, the community doesn't even know what Project Graduation is. Even the parents at Farmington High School, now that I'm the leader of Project Graduation, there are so many parents that have reached out not even knowing what Project Graduation is or what it does. So, we've put that out there, as an announcement at Farmington High School that we're still looking for volunteers to help put this program on. We meet the second Monday of every month at Farmington High School. We meet at 6 o'clock. So, if there's Farmington High School senior parents out there that want to join us, you're more than welcome. The more the merrier. It makes the night go much smoother and much easier. So, we want to say thank you to all the community members that donate. San Juan Regional, who's been there for 30 plus years, donated to all the area schools, not only Farmington High School. So, thank you guys. Have a great day.
