San Juan Regional Medical Center's Gift Market has a little bit of everything for caregivers and patients. Your purchases support our auxiliary.
The Gift Market
Cheryl Bare: Hello, my name is Cheryl Bare. I am the manager of San Juan Regional Medical Center's Gift Market. I'm happy to join you today to talk about what's going on at our hospital gift shop. The gift market is run by the San Juan Regional Medical Center's Auxiliary. As the manager, I am employed by our organization and so is our merchandiser, Jen. The rest of our wonderful staff you see in the gift market are volunteers. And of course, we couldn't run the gift market without these dedicated volunteers. We are so grateful to each of them for giving their time and talents to support our community hospital.
When you shop at the gift market, you're supporting our hospital. All of our proceeds from the sale support San Juan Regional Medical Center. The Auxiliary uses this money to fund our Educational Assistance Program and purchase equipment for the hospital. So every time you shop with us, you're making a difference. The gift market is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We are also pleased to announce that we will be offering extended hours for the holiday season on Wednesdays. From November 20th through December 18th, those hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. We invite you to stop by anytime to see what we have to offer. And of course, we always have cards, magazines, flowers, toiletries, snacks, stuffed animals, and jewelry, just to name a few.
We are also proud to support some of our local businesses. We carry Bees of the San Juan Honey and Thomas Kettlecorn, which sell amazing here. We also have a lot of fun trying to help you find the perfect gift during the holidays. We're starting to stock up on our holiday items as we are offering a variety of purses and backpacks. We also have a really good selection of men and women's perfume.
A lot of the caregivers stop by on a daily basis for that extra jolt of caffeine. We have many popular drinks to offer and there's always service with a smile from those wonderful volunteers you know and love.
Speaking of our volunteers, did you know we also take phone orders? So, let your family and friends know, all they have to do is give us a call at 505-609-6020.
A few other things I wanted to make sure to mention, we know that patients sometimes need a distraction to take their mood off of being hospitalized. We sell gently used books for just 50 cents. If you have books you'd like to donate, we welcome them. Books can be dropped off at the front desk or here at the gift market or directly to Volunteer Services Manager Teresa Becker's office.
We also have a lot of fun and stealthy events during the holiday season. We will be sharing information on those via email and on the San Juan Regional Medical Center internet. So, stay tuned everybody!
And finally, if you want to be in the know about what's happening at the gift market, go to our website, sanjuanregional.com, and fill out the form on the gift market page to join our email list. We are located on the main floor of the hospital. Stop by today and pick up a gift for a friend or a family member. And we look forward to seeing you.
