Celebrating Exceptional Caregivers with San Juan Regional Medical Center’s BEE Award
Cindy Baez: Hello, my name is Cindy Baez. I'm the Vice President of Patient Care Services. I'm here today to announce a new award that the hospital is going to be awarding. We are calling this, the BEE award, B-E-E, like the Flying Bee. San Juan Regional Medical Center wants to celebrate caregivers who go above and beyond their daily duties to make a meaningful impact on their patients lives.
We are launching the BEE award, which recognizes healthcare professionals for the extraordinary care they provide. B, which stands for being, E for exceptional, E. Every. So Being Exceptional Everyday. The BEE award is a companion to the DAISY award that we started in 2021, for nurses specifically. Just as the DAISY cannot thrive without the BEE, nurses cannot succeed without the outstanding teamwork provided by their fellow health care professionals. The BEE Award is open to all support staff within patient care services who are not registered nurses. This may include patient educators, patient care techs, critical care techs, emergency department techs, for example. Our support staff are the heart of our compassionate care here at San Juan Regional Medical Center. They consistently model empathy and a caring attitude, bringing comfort and reassurance to our patients and their families. Each day, they exemplify our mission, vision, and values, creating meaningful connections with our patients and their families that truly elevate the care experience.
We are deeply grateful for their dedication and the difference they make in every life they touch.
So nominating a caregiver for a BEE award is simple. We have a nomination form on our website as well as paper forms available at the hospital at three different locations. The main elevators, the employee cafeteria, and in our emergency department. We will be accepting nominations starting in August,
The initial awardees will be celebrated in the last quarter, October through December.
Cindy Baez: I invite you to thank a healthcare professional today by nominating them for a BEE award. Thank you and have a great day.
