Charge Health: A Fun, Easy Way to Recognize Your Coworkers
Allie Hoffman: Hi there. This is Allie Hoffman. Today I am excited to share something new we're introducing at San Juan Regional. A tool we believe will change how we recognize each other, have fun, and build a deeper sense of belonging here at SJRMC. It's called Charge Health. So, what is Charge Health? It's a mobile app free for all caregivers and staff, nurses, doctors, technicians, housekeeping, administration, everyone.
The idea is simple. With just a few taps, you can send kudos or recognition to somebody on your team for something they did well. Maybe something small, maybe something big. It might be for extra kindness. Stepping in during crunch time, going above and beyond, or simply making someone's shift better. Charge Health isn't just about sending compliments.
It's built as a game, social, fun, and dynamic. You belong to groups based on your department. You can see recognition happening around you. You can participate in challenges or moments that highlight what we do here together.
So why are we bringing Charge Health to San Juan Regional? Well, working in healthcare is hard. We see this every day. Long hours, emergencies, tight resources, and while our staff do phenomenal work, sometimes the most ordinary efforts go unrecognized. Feeling valued, feeling connected, it's not just a nice to have, it impacts job satisfaction, patient care, even workplace happiness. Charge Health has been shown to lift all of these aspects significantly.Sometimes just weeks after introduction.
Also, staff who receive regular recognition report better morale. Peer support helps reduce burnout. So by embedding recognition in our daily workflows, we aim to make SJRMC a place where every shift has moments of connection. So here's how you can get started.
First. Just download the app. It's free, available for our iPhone and Android in the Apple or Google Play stores. And the best part, no usernames or passwords. It isn't connected to any other systems at the hospital, so nothing is stored on your phone. Then you join your team. Once you're in, choose your role in your department here at San Juan Regional, so you see your colleagues and you can send and receive recognition, or in Charge lingo, sparks. And finally, start recognizing. No need to wait for a big event. Saw somebody help another? Did someone make a patient's day? Recognize it. Celebrate it. As more of us use it, you'll see the feed of positivity growing, challenges, acknowledgements, and more. We'll also be sharing some themed weeks of appreciation and very SJRMC specific content.
If there's one message I want to leave you with, it's you matter. What you do here matters. Every role matters, and the little moments build up. Charge Health is our invitation to notice those moments, to celebrate them, and to build a culture where every person feels seen and appreciated, and most importantly, have some fun.
We'll be rolling this out with Charge Health coming on site. Distributing flyers and we'll be available if you need help downloading or using the app. Thank you for all you do. Let's make San Juan Regional not just a place people work, but a place people feel part of. I can't wait to see the positive energy we generate together.
Thank you for having me.
