Jason Rounds: Hi everyone. I'm Jason Rounds President and CEO of San Juan Regional Medical Center. I'm honored to be among the first to wish you a Happy Hospital Week. Hospital Week is more than a series of activities. It is an intentional time to recognize the care, compassion, and commitment you bring to our patients, our community, and one another. It reflects our deep appreciation for caregivers at every level of the organization and at every stage of their journey.

We celebrate Hospital Week because you matter. When you feel supported and inspired to go above and beyond, our patients win. And as we all know, our patients are the reason we are all here. This year, our hospital week theme is Champions of Care, Together we shine. But this is more than just a theme. It's a reflection of who we are as an organization and how care truly happens.

Champions of Care recognizes that every person in the hospital plays a vital role in delivering exceptional care. A champion isn't just someone in a clinical role. It's every caregiver, support staff member, volunteer, and leader who shows up every day with compassion, skill, and dedication. It's about going the extra mile, advocating for patients supporting one another and taking pride in the difference you make.

Together We Shine emphasizes that healthcare is a team effort. No single role stands alone. When everyone works together, supports one another and shares a common purpose, the impact is far greater. Shining represents excellence, positivity, and the moments—big and small—where your work lights the way for patients and families during some of their most vulnerable times.

Throughout the week, we will be recognizing our caregivers through a variety of meaningful traditions that have been part of our organization for years. These are events we are proud of and things we look forward to every year. This includes Years of Service Recognition. This year, we are recognizing 215 honorees, ranging from five to 45 years of service. We actually have three caregivers celebrating 45 years. So, join me in congratulating Bernadette Lucero, Susan Bowman, and Yvonne Vi Hill.

Part of our Years of Service Recognition includes our Brick Ceremony for those who have been here the longest. We will kick off hospital week celebrations with this meaningful event, Monday, May 11th at 10:00 AM in the Healing Garden. Please plan to come by to honor our caregivers celebrating 30 years or more.

This year, we are also expanding hospital week to intentionally welcome and celebrate new caregivers reinforcing belonging and connection from day one. This is for anyone who has joined the organization within the past year. We'll be recognizing them with two come and go sessions planned for Wednesday, May 13th.

We're looking forward to Department Celebration, Educational Achievements, and Years of Service awards. You can find more information about those events at our intranet SJRMC Connect.

In closing, Hospital Week is about you, your impact, your dedication, and the difference you make every day. It's about celebrating collaboration, the power of working as one team across departments; compassion, the heart behind every interaction; excellence, the high standard you bring to patient care every day; recognition, honoring the contributions of each individual.

This Hospital Week, remember that you are champions of care, and together we shine. It's a reminder that while each person brings unique strength through our core value of personal reverence, it's the collective effort that team accountability that truly makes our organization shine.

Happy Hospital Week. I look forward to celebrating each of you and the meaningful contributions you make and truly do create life better here.
