A concise overview of the "What Matters to You" June celebration and why asking one simple question can strengthen patient-centered care, teamwork, and trust across your hospital.
What Matters to You June Challenge
Hannah Marx: Hi. My name is Hannah Marx, and I work in the Patient Experience Department as the lead assistant, and I want to talk to you about our "What Matters to You?" June celebration. So, our goal with the "What Matters to You?" Challenge is really to encourage and promote meaningful conversations that explore either yours or someone else's, like a patient or maybe a coworker's goals, preferences, and values. This really can improve care outcomes, communication, trust, and patient team and self-empowerment.
So, we have a few things going on throughout the month of June. Our first thing is our Wellworks Challenge. You can sign up for this in our Wellworks Wellness Portal, and you just have to complete 10 habits between June 1st and the 30th. This does count as step two towards receiving a discount on your 2027 medical premiums, which will save you $60 per month or $720 per year on those insurance costs.
But we have a variety of pretty fun prizes available if you complete the challenge. So, you could be entered to win passes for our Durango Hot Spring, to take your family to the Bisti Bay for a fun day in the water park, or to any city of Farmington Theater show. So, those are all available. We have lots of prizes available.
So, we also have the "What Matters to You?" bulletin board contest. So in your department, create a bulletin board or maybe a decorated door, depending on what's available, featuring the "What Matters to You?" Program and how you implement it. So, what matters to you guys as individuals within your department? We want to see that represented. So, you'll send that over to engage@sjrmc.net by June 12th. We will have voting available June 15th through the 22nd for all caregivers to vote on the internet. And to win, you will get snack basket prizes for the top three departments.
We hope to see you all engaging in our "What Matters to You?" celebration and really getting in touch with your values as a caregiver, your coworkers' values, and your patient values. It can be really empowering to ask someone what matters to them that day and help facilitate those conversations and those needs with patients and coworkers. Thank you all for listening, and I hope you have a good rest of your day.
