Why Do Patients See a Cardiologist?
Host: I'm here with Dr. Wissam Alajajii from Summa Health. Why do most patients see a cardiologist?
Wissam Alajajii, MD: Usually patients present either for evaluation of symptoms, such as chest pain and shortness of breath, or to get screening for heart disease. Symptoms can overlap with non-heart related conditions. Heart doctors will be able to use their expertise to diagnose these symptoms accurately.
Host: What's special about Summa Health's cardiology team?
Wissam Alajajii, MD: At Summa, we use advanced imaging techniques for accurate diagnosis and early detection of disease, even at the state before the onset of symptoms. Among imaging tools we use advanced echocardiography, cardiac CT, and MRI. Coming to Summa will give patients a comprehensive and advanced cardiac care, even in the most complex cases, as we thrive to serve our patients to the best.
