Finding the Good in Every Situation

According to Joyce Knudsen, PhD, "Life is not the way it's supposed to be, it's the way it is." Coping becomes the solution.
There are going to be traumatic events, and there's nothing we can do to stop them from happening.

Everyone responds differently to these situations. Some people want to discuss at length, others prefer to withdraw. Some need to cry it out, others need distractions.

Young children can be spared to an extent, but as adults, we are forced to deal with the aftermath. An intensely severe event may result in a form of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which can present future health conditions; both physical and mental.

Since these events are inevitable, it's important to find the best of every situation. According to Joyce Knudsen, PhD, "Life is not the way it's supposed to be, it's the way it is." Coping becomes the solution.

Dr. Knudsen joins hosts Andrea Donsky and Lisa Davis to share some tips for dealing with trauma in a healthy, proactive way.
