  • Guest Bio Cheryl-EbertingCheryl Lee Eberting, MD, is the founder of CherylLeeMD® Sensitive Skin Care and is the inventor of TrueLipids® Skin Barrier Optimization & Repair Technology™; a patent-pending line of products containing essential skin barrier lipids with Lipid Release™ technology. Dr. Eberting is a board-certified dermatologist and a past clinical research fellow of the Dermatology Branch of the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She is a member of the American Contact Dermatitis Society and has published several research and review articles in the areas of skin barrier optimization and repair, allergic contact dermatitis, irritant contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, blue light therapy, melanoma and more.

While at the NIH, Dr. Eberting developed her interest in sensitive skin and its association with chemical allergies, toxicities and the skin barrier. Her research at the NIH focused on Hyper-IgE Syndrome (also called Job's syndrome after Job in the Bible) and its inherent severe atopic dermatitis and concomitant Staphylococcus aureus-induced exacerbations. In a presentation at the 2004 American Society for Pediatric Dermatology in Washington, D.C., Dr. Eberting was one of the first dermatologists in the world to advocate the use of bleach baths in the treatment of atopic dermatitis; this practice is now adopted throughout the world and is known to be a very effective and important part of the treatment of atopic eczema. When at the NIH, Dr. Eberting had the opportunity to work with toxicologists at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and began to independently investigate the carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, teratogenicity, reproductive hormone disruption and allergenicity profiles of chemicals in skin care products and the environment. At this time, she determined to create products that she could safely and confidently use on herself, her babies and children, and could confidently recommend to her own patients.

In 2006, Dr. Eberting started her medical and cosmetic dermatology practice, Alpine Dermatology & Laser. She started the first dedicated eczema clinic in the State of Utah and focuses on the treatment of atopic dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis. She also has a special talent in treating acne, rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis and the aging face.

With the help and input of her wonderful patients, and through countless formulations and reformulations, Dr. Eberting developed the TrueLipids line of products so that they are effective and can be tolerated by the most people on the planet as possible. These therapeutic, hypoallergenic and non-toxic moisturizers are dramatically changing the lives of people of all ages and all skin types from all over the world. She has developed a passion for helping those who suffer from many different skin conditions, and has worked tirelessly to create products that really produce results.
