How can athletes return to sports so quickly after an injury, while the average person can be out of work and recreation for months?
Is there some super-secret rehab they get to do that the rest of us don't? Or, do they just have more therapists and equipment to speed their healing?
Is it possible for YOU to get back in the game or go back to work as quickly as an athlete?
In this segment of Train Your Body, Melanie Cole, MS, and Dr. Scott Weiss, licensed physical therapist and board certified athletic trainer, explain how you can return to your activities as fast as a professional athlete.
It's important to pay special attention to the four R's of therapy: Repair with protein, Refuel with carbohydrates, Re-hydrate and Revitalize with important vitamins and minerals.
One great saying to keep in mind, according to Dr. Weiss... "Don't always try to do the right thing in rehab, just don't do the wrong thing in play and rehab."
