Might you need glasses?
Host of The Wizard of Eyes, Dr. Robert Abel, Jr., provides tips on how you can assess your own visual needs and make sense of your prescription.
Dr. Abel also goes over the following common eye health terms:
- Nearsighted (or myopia): you see objects better near than at a distance, without correction.
- Farsighted (or hyperopia): you see objects better at a distance, without correction.
- Astigmatism: causes blurred vision due either to the irregular shape of the cornea, the clear front cover of the eye, or sometimes the curvature of the lens inside the eye.
- LASIK: a procedure using lasers to change the prescription of the eye.
