“I should not be here today,” says Lynda McGuirk, “I am a survivor of a motor vehicle accident that left me with traumatic brain injury.”
In January 2003, McGuirk spent six weeks in a coma. That was the easy part. When she woke up, the real work began and she faced a long rehabilitation program.
Today McGuirk is a successful entrepreneur and author of the new book, Survive and Thrive: My Traumatic Brain Injury Survival Guide. Like millions of traumatic brain injury (TBI) survivors, McGuirk relearned how to live and was able to re-channel her life and business goals into a new, satisfying lifestyle.
Survive and Thrive offers straightforward and practical advice for reclaiming and enjoying life after a brain injury. McGuirk shares her experience, offers sound advice and equips TBI patients with the knowledge they need to survive the emotional, psychological and physical results of a TBI.
In this segment, McGuirk joins Dr. Susanne to share portions from her book, as well as the hope that each and every TBI patient needs.
