EP 1,001B - Choosing The Right Sunscreen

These days, it seems like there are a million different sunscreen options for outdoor summer fun. From organic to spray on, we'll go over the options in today's episode.

Each year the Environmental Working Group released its annual Guide to Sunscreens.

This year researchers rated the safety and efficacy of more than 1,300 SPF products – including sunscreens, moisturizers, and lip balms – and found that only 25% offer adequate protection and do not contain worrisome ingredients such as oxybenzone, a potential hormone-disrupting chemical that is readily absorbed by the body.

Carla Burns is an analyst with a focus on toxics research with the Environmental Working Group and will help breakdown for us what we want in sunscreen this season.
