Weight discrimination was reported by 7% of US adults in 1995-96, and almost doubled to 12% by 2006.

Christopher Berger completed a degree in Geography at ASU and then went on to earn a Master of Science in Sports Medicine from the University of Oregon. Later, he would complete a PhD in Exercise Physiology at the University of Kentucky where he also earned a Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics. He is currently with the University of Indianapolis in the Department of Kinesiology.
In 1998, Chris was certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and has been very active in the College as conference presenter, writer, and media liaison. He is particularly proud of his involvement in the ACSM Committee on Certification and Registry Boards where he chaired its Exam Development Team and learned a great deal about certification test development and professional credentialing. In 2002, Chris was certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and has been active there as well as conference presenter, writer, and media liaison.
