Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the U.S.

Understanding lung cancer risk factors and symptoms can help you make a more informed treatment decision.

At Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), each patient is provided with a multidisciplinary team of experts that helps tailor lung cancer treatment to his or her unique tumor and concerns.

For patients with lung cancer, seeking an integrated team can be particularly important—experts in nutritional counseling and interventional pulmonology are used in combination with other cancer treatments to relieve symptoms that may limit breathing or cause pain.

To help patients navigate a diagnosis of cancer, Dr. Bruce Gershenhorn discusses how he works with each person to answer questions and develop an individualized plan. In this segment, he shares his advice on when to seek a second opinion.
