If you're suffering from foggy brain, fatigue, poor memory, headaches, itching, bad breath, or any combination of these, but you don't really have an answer why... could it be you're dealing with a candida infection?
Candida is a fungus that normally lives in your body and only becomes problematic (and symptomatic) when it gets out of hand.
There are different types of candida and even different manifestations.
For example, oral thrush presents as a thick, white coating in the mouth and throat (particularly on the tongue). But yeast infections, psoriasis and eczema are also variations of candida infections, as is dandruff.
Many people don't even realize they have it, even though these conditions are really widespread throughout the population.
While there are medications to help with candida, you can also help fight the condition simply by eating certain foods.
10 Foods that Fight Candida
Coconut oil is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-microbial and perhaps the most potent way to fight candida.
Garlic has anti-fungal properties, boosts your immune system and preserves the good bacteria in your body, all of which help fight the infection. Garlic also helps pull the candida from your body to the liver for detoxification.
Seaweed has a massive amount of nutrients; it's also great for your thyroid, a great source of iodine and helps pull heavy metals out of your body.
Sprouted almonds are considered prebiotics, which means they help feed the good bacteria in your body, which in turn fights the candida.
Ginger helps stimulate your liver, is good for circulation, and helps fight gas and inflammation. But make sure you avoid sugar when consuming ginger (e.g. your ginger tea), because sugar feeds the candida.
Olive Oil (uncooked/unheated) has anti-fungal properties and stimulates your immune system. Use on salads or put into your shakes and smoothies.
Lemon and Lime go hand-in-hand; they are both great for your liver and for detoxification.
Finally, pumpkin seeds, cayenne pepper and onions are all great options as well.
