Since it took effect in 2010, the healthcare reform law, otherwise known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or "Obamacare," has made drastic changes to healthcare.
In fact, Healthcare.gov states that, "the Affordable Care Act puts in place strong consumer protections, provides new coverage options and gives you the tools you need to make informed choices about your health."
The new enrollment period opens November 1, 2015; but if you are unsure of what to expect you may be frantically trying to figure out if you'll be covered or not. The ACA can seem a little confusing, and if you've gone to the website, more than a little frustrating.
Even though this is a hot button issue, you may still have several unanswered questions, including what happens in the absence of coverage, availability of care, penalties, and remedies.
Marianne Eterno, AVP of Government Relations for Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Company (GTL), joins Melanie Cole, MS, to discuss all your ACA questions.
