Making daily switches towards raw foods and fruits full of natural nutrients and toxin-blockers will have huge health benefits for your weight and your health in the long run.

Here are some recommendations to spring-clean your body and your kitchen:
Grapefruit. One medium grapefruit a day delivers the recommended daily dose of vitamin C for an adult. It also contains the phytochemicals naringenin and other flavonoids, limonen, beta-carotene, and lycopene.
Dark Green Leafy Vegetables. Spinach, kale, romaine lettuce, leaf lettuce, mustard greens, collard greens, chicory, and Swiss chard. They all boast a dazzling array of carotenoids, such as lutein and zeaxanthin, along with saponins and flavonoids. They also have some folate and fiber.
Broccoli. This and other cruciferous veggies – like brussel sprouts, rapini, red cabbage, and radishes – deliver excellent amounts of vitamin C. Some provide manganese and vitamin K. They produce large amounts of glucosinolates, that are big-time body detoxifiers.
Apples. The antioxidant punch of apples comes mostly from quercetin, a flavonoid with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Don’t peel them – the peel is full of triterpenoids. And apples are also a good source of fiber and vitamin C.
Grapes and Grape Juice. Both are rich sources of the polyphenol known as resveratrol, which research indicates possesses strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties – and aggressively rids your body of toxins.

Dr. Reyzan Shali has over 30 years of experience advising cancer patients –- including her own parents –- through the complexities of treatments and its impact on the body and mind. Her specialty is equipping patients with the mental and physical tools that can spell survival.
Born in Iraq, Dr. Shali has maintained a steady refusal to live a life defined by a society that minimizes women, which has helped her challenge boundaries along the way. Dr. Shali’s journey as a physician began many years ago when she lost her father to cancer. That devastating event led to her lifelong goal of helping as many families and individuals as she can to improve their odds against this illness. Her mother was also struck by cancer, which has increased Dr. Shali’s determination to pursue her mission all the more. That journey led her to a successful practice in Southern California, where many of her patients have become friends. In connecting with people by speaking from her heart, the idea of her book was born. Dr. Shali is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American College of Physicians (ACP). - Length (mins): 19:54
