He is Professor Emeritus of Reproductive Biology, Case Western Reserve University, Consultant in Women's Health at the Cleveland Clinic, and Chairman of the Advisory Board of Rapid Medical Research. Previously, he was Director of OB/GYN at University Hospitals of Cleveland. He founded the International Menopause Society, and the North American Menopause Society.
In 2015 he returned to NAMS as Interim Executive Director to assist in the reorganization of the Society, and transition of leadership. He was Medical Editor of Maturitas, Founding Editor of Menopause (1994-2010), and Editor of Menopause Management.
